Neon Variegated Beni Highlands

Chicago, 2021, Brandon Carrion was growing a Beni Highlands when he noticed it had pale neon leaves. Some folks thought it might have been a nutrient deficiency, but Brandon knew better. He had something special on his hands. As the plant grew, it got more variegation and loaded up with pods. Brandon saved seeds and continued growing this mutated Beni Highlands now known as the Neon Variegated Beni Highlands. He sent me seeds this year and I grew 4 plants, all with variegated neon green/dark green variegation. I grew them all in the same hole so they didn't get as big as they could have, but they were still very productive. The flavor is very clean with a slight sweetness and an occasional pineapple burst. Heat varies but can be as high as 50K SHU. Would make great pickled peppers, peppers for sauce or dried and powdered.

This is one of those variegations that look even better in person and was a highlight of my garden every time I checked on it.
